Sold some old CDs

I had a box of old music CDs I didn't listen to anymore, so I figured I'd try selling them. The website was easy enough to navigate. I just scanned the barcodes on my phone. Shipping was free, which was nice. Took about a week and a half for them to get to their warehouse and for the payment to hit my account. It wasn't a huge amount of money, but it was more than I expected for CDs, and it was better than just throwing them out. All in all, a pretty good experience.

Good for selling old books

I sold a bunch of old textbooks. The process was straightforward, and I got a decent payout. I used a code for 10% extra, which made it feel like a really good deal. It's definitely worth checking if you have books just sitting around.

So easy to clear out clutter!

Oh my goodness, I finally cleared out all those old DVDs and a stack of Xbox games! I listed them all so fast. The whole thing was super easy and I got paid pretty quickly after they received the box. I will absolutely use World of Books again when I do my next purge. You should totally try it!

Are those bonus codes they mention actually worth it? Like, do they pop up often or is it just a rare thing? Trying to get the most for my old books.

J Jared Hughes 1 month ago
Definitely worth keeping an eye out for them. I usually get 10-15% extra. Sign up for their emails, that's where I see them pop up.

Yeah, I've seen some good ones. They have seasonal ones sometimes too, around holidays or back-to-school.

Has anyone used World of Books to sell stuff recently? Wondering how long it actually takes to get paid after they get your box. Trying to clear out space before a move.

B Ben Kaur 2 weeks ago
Mine was pretty quick, like a week or so after they confirmed receipt. I think it depends on how busy they are.

It took a little longer for me, maybe 10 days to two weeks. I sent a huge box though, so might be that. They do pay, just not instantly.

Hey, thinking of selling a bunch of old textbooks and some games. Is it easy to send everything in one box, even books and DVDs together? Or do I need to separate them?

M Marcus Z. 4 weeks ago
Yeah, you can totally put them all in one box. I did it last month with a mix of books and some PS4 games, no problem.

I think they just need everything packed securely. As long as it's not like, falling apart, you should be good. No need to separate media types, afaik.

Thinking of using World of Books to sell some stuff, but also looked at Decluttr. Any thoughts on which one is better for books and DVDs?

J James Vargas 4 weeks ago
I've used both. World of Books often gives a bit more for books, especially if you have a bonus code. Decluttr is usually faster for payouts though.

For just books, World of Books probably. But if you have electronics too, Decluttr is better for that. I usually check both before deciding.

Anyone know if they're super picky about book condition? Got some older paperbacks that are a bit worn but still readable. Don't want to send them if they'll just get rejected.

J Jared 1 month ago
They're pretty reasonable. As long as they're not falling apart or super stained, you should be fine. I've sent some well-loved ones and they've been accepted.

I had a couple of ex-library books go through, so they're not super strict, but if there's writing all over or pages missing, they'll probably reject those.
